On a spring equestrian outing from the book Junction County Road, 197, Vic Campbell recalls a sensory-rich ride with Joe Cook to Webb Landing on the Escambia River. They discover a rare, five-foot rainbow snake, temporarily store it in a mayonnaise jar, and later lose it from Joe's home. The episode captures the sights, sounds, and smells of rural life and the lasting memory of that unusual encounter. The book is out of print. A PDF of the book is available free at chumuckla.com .
