On a spring equestrian outing from the book Junction County Road, 197, Vic Campbell recalls a sensory-rich ride with Joe Cook to Webb Landing on the Escambia River. They discover a rare, five-foot rainbow snake, temporarily store it in a mayonnaise jar, and later lose it from Joe's home.
